Long post ALLERT!!! 🚨 Sometimes I find it hard to post certain videos of me during our project as it’s so hard to relive the emotion. With the work I do, the children I meet face so many challenges that even a grown woman like me could not cope with, 💔let alone me trying to bare the thought of my 5 year old living in such conditions. At times I get so overwhelmed with the little part I get to help them with, to the point I breakdown in front of the kids, feeling like I am not doing enough, yet there is so much I can do!! One out of many stories I have of children caught up in cattle rustling, early marriages and immoral cultural practices which I hope I will keep sharing with you. At a school, I had a child about 6 years old who kept tagging at my leg every few minutes asking me for some water as he was so thirsty. I was a mere visitor at his school and busy with my team setting up the book distribution at the school.. and even so, all the water we had brought with us was only accounted for our team. Eventually I gave in to the little one and asked him if I could walk him to a tap I had seen near by so he could have a drink of water. He told me the water was so salty that it is hard to even swallow let alone quench his thirst. My heart fell to pieces 😭😭I asked a team member to take him to our van discretely and give him water as I’m sure all the children were suffering just as much as him but he couldn’t bare it as he was so small 😭 We need your support people.
