We’re delighted to share an exclusive Q&A with Danielle. • What book is currently in your bag? Love in Winter Wonderland by Abiola Bello. • Do you have a favourite bookshop? There are so many wonderful bookshops that are local to me, so it’s impossible to pick just one! Urmston Bookshop, Chorltorn Bookshop, Didsbury Village Bookshop and Queer Lit are a few of my favourites. • What’s been your favourite book recommended by a bookseller? Pet by @azemezi • Who would you love to give a National Book Token to and why? Kids of Colour, which is an incredible organisation that works with young people of colour aged 24 and under. They also run a Kids of Colour bookshelf, which gives free books to young people across Greater Manchester. It’s so important to be able to get books into the hands of teenagers! • What book will you be nominating for the Books Are My Bag Readers’ Choice Award? Julia and the Shark by @kiran_mh and @tomdefrestonart. It’s such a beautiful and moving portrayal of mental health, brimming with hope and adventure. Tom’s artwork is stunning.
