Love @pitmagazineuk. Wrote a piece for their newest potato-themed issue on the Kokino Horia (red villages) in Cyprus, where my grandparents come from. Famous for the cultivation of the Cyprus Potato, the villagers crowdfunded to build a weird phallic-shaped statue that soon became a local tourist attraction. But there’s also stuff on what this potato means to the people of this area, how they’re looked down on by the rest of the island for being traditional and strong-minded, and why a little potato pride never hurt nobody.
