1 of 5 plasma exchange treatments done ✅ This phase of treatment can’t be over soon enough. The catheter in my neck is extremely painful constantly. Yet there it will live for the next 10 days. There aren’t any true expectations for this treatment, but sequentially we have decided it makes sense seeing as if we were to go ahead and use IVIG medication, going the plasma exchange route afterwards would just undo the IVIG. It also is pretty safe and some people see really big results. There’s just no way to know how I will respond. Results may even take a few weeks. Plasma exchange + the IVIG medication, I can expect another couple weeks in the hospital. following the steroid therapy, I definitely have some more control of my eye movements and I am able to sit up with much more stability. With the help of the PT and OT here, I have gotten to push myself in a wheelchair and even stand on my feet!!! This is huge progress, but it also doesn’t feel like much when I’m still so far from being my previous self, and each effort makes me violently dizzy. Wish I had a more uplifting of an update, but nothing too eventful happening over here. Just carrying on. Thank you everyone who has sent messages of support.
