“Variant” a new series of self portrait’s by Maxwell Vice 📹 I had a hard retrograde (lol) which ultimately lead me to doing one of the most therapeutic things for a Vice; painting their entire body with makeup. I’ve been having a hard time feeling powerful in THIS body. Not my drag character, not my club characters, but me as a Vice...as a Max. Most of my work involves me altering my body which I love, but then when I get back to my “boy” body I would feel inadequate. So I decided to make a version of my alter ego that was stripped. Removed of any online, electronic admiration. Someone so bare that you had to look at them, and even amungst the makeup you would see me. Don’t know if anyone cares to read this stuff, but self portraiture is super important to me and I haven’t seen myself this raw before. It’s me but a variant of me, or vice versa.
