I started reading Lysa’s books in college and every single one has had a huge impact on me. She is my most beloved and the most influential Christian author in my life🤍 I clung tight to her books “Forgiving What You Can’t Forget” and “Good Boundaries and Goodbyes” this year. Listened to every episode of Therapy and Theology. Her voice was in my life every day the past year, from podcasts to books to studies. I feel like my life has mirrored hers in ways. And right as I needed guidance, she was releasing a new book on the topic I was struggling with. After the excitement and shock of being invited to this event settled, my very next thought was “I am not worthy of going to this.” I could name a hundred people who should go to this over me. I could name a thousand things in my life that should knock me off this list. Women who are more godly, who wake up with joy radiating from them, open the word of God and let Him fill their day first thing. I know hundreds of women whose stories aren’t like mine. Rewriting to what is good pure holy thoughts : my past is not me. my relationship status is not me. my mistakes are not me. They are a part of my testimony. They are a part of what has pushed the gas and driven me to God. Resting in who I am today and who I strive to be. Resting in who God says I am : worthy and chosen - loved by Him. It’s a new day, sister! Lay down your past life and go get what God is calling you to🤍
