The photographer's reward. While I was shooting in Teahupo’o, the waves were quite nice, sublimated by this dark atmosphere that the wave transforms into an object of reflection of the low sunlight. There were not many people in the water and I took a picture of this young local on a small cute wave. As we started to go back to the boat, we picked him up on board to bring him back to the shore. On the way, I make a quick check of the pictures taken at the moment. I then came across this wave of this youngster, I decided to show him. And it was the best possible reward for a photographer: a huge smile was written on his face, he then looked at me, stars in his eyes, mouth open, without being able to say a word. It was his first picture of himself in Teahupoo, and thanks to this picture, he and I will remember this moment for a long time. Even if it's not my best picture, it's special for me, because it's so rare to see a reaction like this one when most of the time the ones I get from the surfers I shoot are limited to a banal "thank you very much".
