This #HispanicHeritage month we are highlighting community leaders who are making an impact in the lives of people throughout #CA44. Diana Medel's (@dianamedel2) commitment to lift up the voices in her community began in #Wilmington as the youngest community organizer & Honorary Mayor of Wilmington. Diana continued organizing with the @astcaliforniastateassembly_ where she worked with leaders in various cities & neighborhoods to advocate for the advancement of education equity, immigration justice, supportive services, & reentry programs. She’s served as the Neighborhood Revitalization manager with @habitatla, where she led the implementation of an innovative framework to improve the quality of life of residents in the @cityoflongbeach through sustainable partnerships & created a model for collaboration across neighborhoods - her efforts were recognized by @lbrescuemission as Partner of the Year. Today, Diana serves the cities of #Carson & #Gardena as Director of Strategic Partnerships at @bgcofcarson, where she uplifts youth voices through advocacy & works to create lasting partnerships with the community. Her lived experiences fuel her passion to empower people to bring change to their communities. We are proud to call her one of our own here in #CA44.
