The Mint Julep is the official drink of the Kentucky Derby, but I’m just here for the bourbon and the excuse to make a good cocktail. Mint Julep —————- Ingredients: • 6–8 mint leaves (plus more for garnish) • 0.5 oz mint syrup (see below) • 2 oz Kentucky bourbon • Crushed/pebble ice Mint Syrup Recipe ———- 1. Heat 3⁄4 cup water until hot. 2. Steep 6–8 mint leaves for 3 minutes. 3. Remove leaves, stir in 1 cup sugar until dissolved. 4. Drop in an ice cube to cool it fast, then bottle. Instructions: 1. Muddle mint leaves with syrup in a julep cup. 2. Add bourbon, fill halfway with crushed ice, and stir gently. 3.
