Flying away With @darthlexii as Supergirl. Yeah that SoCal light really just hits different. It really brings out that lifestyle photography vibe that got me into portraits in the first place. From like 2011-2015, I was pretty obsessed with lifestyle photography from the west coast. Specifically from SoCal and the Pacific Northwest (think Oregon and Washington). For SoCal, the strong and sharp colors coupled with fun imagery just drew me in. And for the PNW look, well that was a bit more moody and dramatic. Funny enough, those two styles really laid the foundation of what my work was and currently is. I didn’t get my start in cosplay by any means. I was a portrait photographer some 6-7 years before cosplay was a thing in my mind. Fast forward to today, it is still exciting to try to blend different genres with cosplay. Whether it be fun lifestyle, cinematic storytelling, fashion editorial or ethereal fantasy. For my creative friends, I definitely encourage you all to find inspiration across multiple genres and media.
