April 4th, 2024 marks the day I had to say goodbye to my best friend Duffy. We got him when I was about 6 (I think) and he’s been my best friend since. I used to sit in his cage and read books to him, he’d sleep in my bed on occasion, and anytime I was crying he’d just know and come comfort me. He was there through all my up and downs. We went swimming together and camping all the time. He truly was an amazing dog for me and my family and it’s hard to say goodbye but it was time. He had cancer and died at 14 years old. I don’t have many words except I will forever love you Duffy with my whole heart ❤️ I hope wherever you end up next you’ll be safe and comfortable 🥺
