Explained: Why are there protests in Iraq? @_ahmadalkaabi: The current living conditions in Iraq are abysmal. Unemployment is at a record high, electricity and clean water are considered a luxury, corruption is running rampant and religious fundamentalist are trying to hijack the people’s democracy. This is a millennial, college educated, youth lead movement. When you see young people around the world rising up against their corrupt leadership and demanding change, don’t stand in their way, support them. Share their revolution with the world. Power to the people, always.
