this definitely not a goodbye, but a thank you. in honor of promotion sunday happening within the next week, and you officially leave your highschool life behind. i wanted to share what you did for me during your senior year. so hitting around my two month mark, coming to FBC regularly; this AT LEAST 4’10 girl comes up to me in her deep deep southern accent and tells me she loves my outfits. so of course i say thank you, but after that this girl had made up her mind that we were gonna be friends. so to say i was forced into this friendship is definitely the correct terminology. LOL time passes, and than one day i tell our friend group i’m ready to give my life to christ. so here we are sitting in service, and the time comes for me to go up there and confess that i want to be saved. shelby automatically sees how terrified i am, so she grabs my hand and walks me down to the stage, and not only does she not leave my side, but continues to pray with me that god keeps us friends forever. in that moment, i knew god had sent me a real one. after that the rest is history… • • • • shelby, not only have you been an amazing friend to me, but you took on this older sister role, who has shown me the correct path to christ. and even though we won’t be in connect group together…i still get to see you every sunday as a connect group LEADER. and i know you are nervous to teach 7th graders, but believe it or not…you saved this 11th grader’s life, and i’m forever grateful that god sent you to me🤍
