The @whitehouse Diwali celebration was beautiful and a blast. To see so many people I love and admire. To hear heartwarming words of inclusivity and compassion by @flotus @potus @vp emanate from the stage. To dance at the after-party to the brilliant sounds of @djrekha. AND today I tested positive for COVID after escaping it for the past few years. I have been so careful, getting every possible vaccine and booster because of my underlying conditions; testing before and after events; wearing a mask indoors; asking others to come vaxxed, boosted, and tested to my place. But on Monday, I didn’t wear a mask indoors and came into contact with a lot of people. Who knows and what to do. It was inevitable that I would get it one day.
