fast fashion. please read the whole caption. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ i am not even well educated on this topic, i am not perfect, of course i have shopped fast fashion. i’ve been gifted fast fashion. i am still learning what exactly fast fashion is! i’m learning with you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ as influencers, as people who others look to for guidance, inspiration and creativity, we have a massive responsibility to stop doing promoting fast fashion like Shein, AliExpress, Zaful, Fashionnova etc. i’ve personally never bought from these companies and don’t really understand what the hype is. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ i believe we are so consumed with social validation and that having the newest trendiest clothes at an abysmal price make us SUPER cool. i am not above the need for validation, i am a human. this is natural. my social brain craves being included and being admired and being loved. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ but we HAVE to pivot what we admired and loved for. living in excess, living for the fast cheap fashion, is not it. we can be valued for so much more than just “looking cool” or “being trendy.” you are more than a trend, you are more than consumerism. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ again, i am not perfect. every day i want to buy things that will make my life better or more beautiful. every day i want to wear cool shit. so i am also learning, unlearning and relearning what all this means when we commit to living with less. less product, less fashion, less stuff. i’m really not here to shame anyone and i fucking love you and know you’re figuring this out too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ this is a specific ode to influencers and content creators, let’s stop fast fashion hauls once and for all. #shein #sheinhaul #fashionhaul #fastfashion
