This past week I was blessed with the opportunity to serve in Clarkston, Georgia with Send Relief. Over the course of a week, our team raised money for a baby shower supporting refugee women from South Sudan, loved on and shared the Gospel with refugee children and adults, taught English, started demolition on a growing church, and experienced worship of the Lord across several different cultures and languages.
This week, the Lord worked on my heart in so many ways. He showed me His heart for the nations and the necessity to just GO and share His life-giving Word. He opened my eyes to the absolute beauty that is found in meeting people unlike you in almost every way, except their love for the same God. He revealed the importance of just being obedient and putting the rest in His hands! Mainly, He humbled me. As I walk with the Lord, I continue to grow in my knowledge of Him. However, it is so easy to become prideful in my intellectual growth instead of being joyful about growing closer to the Lord. I was truly shown by the Lord that I will NEVER fully know everything about Him; what a blessing that is. How amazing that we serve and are loved by a God that is so intricate that we will never stop being in awe of Him and always be learning something new (Romans 11:33-34). Every time I think I know something or try to subconsciously confine the Lord to a box, the Lord shows me that there is so much more depth and complexity to what I think I know. All that to say, GO AND SERVE! Whether that be over seas or next door, be comfortable in uncomfortability, and share the Love of the Lord and the Gospel!
āI bless God for a religion which I cannot understand. If I could perfectly understand it I would not believe it to be divine; for I should be sure it did not come from the infinite God if I could grasp it and comprehend it.ā
- C.H. Spurgeon
