The history of our village Babalgaon’s Dasra (Latur), it’s celebration ,its culture, its importance is more than a few generations old. Speaking of lineage and traditions, the most humbling tradition is the family performing the Ashwa Pujan, a grand ceremony where horses are worshipped in thanksgiving, in all their Maratha regalia. Dasara Symbolises the victory of good over evil. Its also a day to put an end to all the negativities and start fresh. We worship our machinery ,vehicles, pens and all warfare.In our village in Babhalgaon families get together in the evening for the tradition of looting the Apte tree and exchanging the leaves among each other and take blessings-the leaves are called “Sona” or gold- followed by a meet and greet for the entire village - the love you receive from everybody in the village is unparallel.
