Saz’iso are coming to Prishtina! Also a Manifesta 14 participant, Saz’iso will be bringing songs from their album At Least Wave Your Handkerchief at Me: The Joys and Sorrows of Southern Albanian Song to the Brick Factory. The unique quality of their songs comes from saze, a genre of folk music emanating from southern Albania, with sounds and rhythms preserved by the musicians that have migrated to Athens, London and elsewhere to escape the turbulence of the post-communist era. Both the formation of the band and the production of this album are part of a larger endeavour on the part of the producers to preserve – and to share – cultural heritage, its transmission of oral histories and the palpable sense of place it evokes. They form a part of the Grand Scheme of Things exhibition at the Grand Hotel Prishtina, located on the 4th floor titled on migration. Saz’iso janë gjithashtu pjesëmarrës në Manifesta 14 Prishtina dhe do të interpretojnë këngë nga albumi i tyre “At Least Wave Your Handkerchief at Me: The Joys and Sorrows of Southern Albanian Song” në Fabrikën e Tullave. Cilësia unike e këngëve të tyre vjen prej sazeve, një zhanër i muzikës folklorike që rrjedh prej jugut të Shqipërisë, me tinguj e ritme të ruajtura nga muzikantë që kanë emigruar në Athinë, Londër e në shumë vende të tjera për t’ju arratisur turbulencave të periudhës pas-komuniste. Si formacioni i grupit dhe produksioni i këtij albumi përbën një endje e gjatë të producentëve për të përmbajtur e ndarë trashëgiminë kulturore, për të transmetuar rrëfimet gojore dhe ndjesitë e forta që evokon. Ata janë pjesë e ekspozitës “Grand Scheme of Things” në Grand Hotel Prishtina, e paraqiten në katin e katërt të këtij hoteli, të titulluar - mbi migrimin.
