Where are my chronic Googlers? 🙋🏼‍♀️
Let me know what pulls you to get on the Internet the most. Is it questioning about baby sleep? Is it wondering about physical symptoms? What is it that pulls you in? share below.
It’s soooo tempting, I get it! But we have to try to resist otherwise the pull gets stronger.
I find it really helpful to separate the different voices that are going on within us.
You might notice that anxious voice that gets stressed out really easily, the one that’s often worried and drives you to do things like research, check the monitor one more time, and constantly look out for risks.
Then most of us have another voice which I like to call your “wise voice”, and this part of you is the one that you really want to be taking the lead. This is the part of you that maybe only checks your baby monitor once and then knows it’s OK to put it down.
Your wise voice knows how to solve problems but not get stuck in endless worry loops.
Your wise self understands that there’s always uncertainty and it’s okay to just accept that.
A huge part of learning to manage anxiety is identifying these two parts and figuring out how to quiet down that anxious voice, and strengthen the wise one.
