Failure is often life’s way of moving us in a different direction, but when we refuse to listen — when we will not amend or adapt or respond — it can begin to feel as though the tension inside of us is an unmovable wall that we will never get past. We begin to conflate what’s not working on the outside for something being irreparably, permanently, profoundly wrong on the inside. The truth is that we often just don’t know how to listen to the cues. What if it hurts because you know you’re meant for more? What if it hurts because it’s trying to get your attention? What if it hurts because you’re not listening to yourself? What if it hurts because it’s not yours to carry? What if it hurts because you’re not being true to yourself? What if it hurts because it’s trying to guide you to a place where you’ll finally feel peace? When we consider our inner disruptions as openings through which we can meet the kinder, braver, more honest versions of ourselves, we stop judging our lows and start seeing them as entryways into the lives we had been asking for all along. This page is from my brand new book, The Pivot Year, which you can pre-order now through the link in my bio. Sending you all love. 🤍
