Las Vegas @reviewjournal newspaper reporter Jeff German was found dead outside his home in #LasVegas with multiple stab wounds on September 3. Four days later, on September 7, police arrested Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles on suspicion of murder and later charged him with murder with a deadly weapon. Telles is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center. Killings of journalists in the U.S. are rare, and murders in retaliation for their work occur even less frequently. A total of 12 journalists and one media worker have been confirmed killed in relation to their work in the United States since CPJ began keeping records in 1992. Prior to Jeff German’s killing, CPJ has recorded only 8 journalists murdered in retaliation for their work in the US.
