Friday, June 10th. The store is as busy as you would expect it to be. Couples and tourists browse akwardly. Summers here. The streets are full, tension spreads as those who swarm them become more intoxicated. Sin and Virtue still co-existing. And soon it will become dark and the streets will change. And so will I. The night brings violence out of the shadows. Hidden behind money, ready to strike at the first sign of innocence. And I’m there too. Entertaining. Sparkling. Working nights have turned me into a nocturnal animal. The nights blur together in a fog. Though, I’m proud to say I no longer feel apathy anymore. No. Greed doesn’t scare me. I get it. It’s easier to steal something than it is to earn it. I don’t condone it but I get it. It takes work to recognise love. And the LED lights sell a cheaper version of it. They’re my signal. For when I’m needed. It’s their call; my warning, that it’s time to put on my mask. (...)
