Let me introduce you to the biscuits of your dreams! After some trial and error, I’ve finally perfected my recipe. With only 5 ingredients and a few simple steps - you’ll be well on your way to fresh baked biscuit heaven. See recipe below. :) • Ingredients: 2 cups All-Purpose Flour 1 tablespoon Baking Powder 1 teaspoon Salt 1 stick COLD Butter, Cubed 3/4 cup Milk 1 Egg, Beaten Optional Garnish: Coarse Sea Salt • Method: 1.) Measure two leveled cups of flour into a large mixing bowl. Whisk in baking powder and 1 teaspoon of salt. • 2.) Add cold cubed butter. Use a fork to work it into the dry mixture. Not too much, not too little. You are looking for (mostly) small pea sized crumbles. • 3.) Stir in the milk - just until a VERY dry + shaggy dough begins to form. You may be tempted to add more liquid here, but just hold your horses. • 4.) Turn out the dough onto well floured surface. Quickly press it together with your hands into a loose ball. Then, fold/knead it about 8-10 times. — Don’t overdo it!! You just want to finish incorporating the ingredients and create some lamination. • 5.) Using a lightly floured rolling pin and/or your hands, form dough into a 1 inch thick rectangle. Then, use a big sharp knife to trim the edges (just a little ~ 1/4 in.) Cut DOWN - (NOT a back & forth sawing motion.) You want straight edges with visible lamination. • Cut into 8 even squares (Cutting DOWN.) Place onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet, about 1 inch apart. Then, set the whole tray in your freezer or fridge while the oven preheats to 425 degrees. • Once preheated, brush your biscuits with beaten egg, and sprinkle with coarse sea salt if you like. Bake for 15 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy! • #biscuits #biscuit #flakeybiscuits #flakeylayers #layers #flakey #baking #simplerecipe #recipe #breakfast #brunch #dinner @thefeedfeed #feedfeed @thefeedfeed.baking @thebakefeed #bakefromscratch #saralynnbakes #ipreview via @preview.app
