In late June we found ourselves burnt out and in need of a holiday. We packed up our @MINIUSA and headed north knowing that Upstate is one of the few places that we can fully unplug and recalibrate. We booked a few nights at INNESS in Accord — a hotel that had been on our list for awhile, but hadn’t made it to yet, and while we had no intention of capturing anything while we were there, we found ourselves inspired by every corner, speck of light, and moment throughout our stay. Needless to say, we couldn’t help ourselves... A few days of rain kept us in our cabin making fires and sleeping in, occasionally wandering up to the restaurant to try everything on the menu, or a drive to Accord Market — and when the sun finally did come out, it felt like we were two adolescents discovering a new playground. Even if our version of that was eating chicken nuggets, sipping a pet nat, and reading a book poolside. Turns out, we didn’t need time away from creating, we just needed to give ourselves the space to create freely and without expectation.
