Repost from @netooeusqua • The Northeastern Women’s Healing Circle will be hosting a Red Dress special in honor of our Missing and Murdered Indigenous Woman, Girls and Two Spirits at Indigenous People’s Day NYC on October 9th, 2022! The Northeast Woodland Women’s Healing Circle of Clan Mothers, Elders and Women of the Northeastern Tribes who are uniting to pray for our stolen relatives, and our relatives struggling with grief. All who stand with us in the circle we ask you to come in a good way and wear red. This special is to share the medicine of the dance in honor of MMIWG2, for all those who have passed on, our sisters and brothers standing on the frontlines and the protection of our Mother Earth! We are inviting all Jingle Dress dancers to join in the special wearing your Red Dress. The prizes are a total of $2,000 and there are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th prizes. We wear red because in our culture we believe that is the color our ancestors can see and those who have walked on, and so it is a guide to help them home. When we dance we are praying and sharing our medicines together in healing all those that we are dancing for! We will come together and share this medicine dance to continue the healing and bringing awareness of why and what we dance for! #MMIW #MMIWG2 #MMIP #Indigenous #Native #Awareness #NoMoreStolenSisters #ProtectOurSisters #WhyWeWearRed #recognizeindigenouspeoplesdaynyc #indigenouspeoplesmovement #idpnyc #indigenouspeopleday #reclaimyourpower #indigenouspeoplesday #humanity #solidarity #unity #nyc #newyorkcity #worldwide Follow/Visit @ipdnyc
