This Saturday, 1 October 2022, 4 pm, we cordially invite you to join us for the artist talk between our director Matthias Harder and the exhibiting photographer Jens Liebchen @jens_liebchen_photography! L.A. Crossing - the project title chosen by @jens_liebchen_photography - sounds like a Hollywood film. And indeed, through his visual mediation, we are on the move in Los Angeles, imagining ourselves in a film. The places seem somehow familiar, the street becomes a stage - and the concrete photography a kind of still image. Real and fictitious film images overlap with what we see here to form a melange of memories that do not even have to be fed by our own experience of reality. L.A. Crossing is real and in our reception almost fictitious again, the series is documentary and conceptual at the same time. The event will take place in the exhibition rooms on the first floor of the Helmut Newton Foundation, there are no space restrictions. The talk will be held in German and the entry ticket is valid for participation.
