Grantham St Veterinary Clinic in Perth is always looking for ways to minimise the impact they (and their furry and feathered patients) have on the environment. “With Covid our use of face masks went up astronomically. So, we decided to get a Zero Waste Box to recycle them,” says Dr Tessa Murray, one of the clinic's dedicated vets. “All our staff wear masks at work, and we also let clients use the boxes – they’re very enthusiastic about the initiative!” But it’s not all the clinic is doing to protect and preserve the planet. “We also use the free Royal Canin pet food packaging recycling program through TerraCycle, and we've found another scheme to recycle our plastic syringes, PVC fluid bags and glass medication vials. With solar panels on the roof, that all adds up to one clean, green veterinary practice.
