✂️ Extension Blending/Cutting ✂️ !!️Before I break it down.. I just want to say... less is more when cutting extensions! You can always take more off but you can’t put it back once it’s gone 😅 Alright, now to the good stuff 👏🏼 💫 I personally like to cut with a feathered razor. However you cut with what’s most comfortable for you. 💫 Always cut on dry hair & have your guest stand. 1️⃣ Framing: (everything back of the ear forward) Where their natural hair ends is where the extension framing will begin. 2️⃣ Shaping: Decide & cut your shape in the back (strait across, ‘U’ shaped) 3️⃣ Have them “hunch” their back to create more space to cut on. Great way to check your shape and/ remove those little corners to connect the framing from the front to the back. 4️⃣ Layers: If you need layering, where ever their hair ends, grab the top layer of extensions and work in about 2” increments. (Keep in mind not to cut into the new weight line you have created with the extensions) 👉🏽 And sometimes that’s all you need 🤷🏼‍♀️ However, here are some extras 😉 5️⃣ Texture: Sometimes their is a texture difference from their natural hair to the extensions. Where their hair ends lightly skim the top layer of extensions with your razor to create texture so their isn’t a disconnect. 6️⃣ Bulk: if you need to remove bulk from the top layer or they have a “shelf” take your razor and bevel out from the underneath, keeping the length but removing the weight. 7️⃣ Wings: bring the hair forward and repeat number 5 to match texture of the extensions to the natural hair.
