It’s been a few weeks and I’ve been able to gather a few thoughts I’d like to share. . Something about the Oscars felt like a chapter closing, and a new one beginning. I share this as a release, a deep inhale and exhale of that chapter. Nothing I’ve not said before. But I am turning the page. . 3 1/2 years after this process began - I sit here in my bed in Los Angeles (my life UNRECOGNIZABLE from the one I was living in New York when I auditioned) and I am reflecting on experiences that change us to the core. As all peak experiences in life come and go, there are certain gifts in life that keep on giving and this has been a gift that I have a feeling will keep giving in unique ways for the rest of my life. . Every once in a while, if you are lucky, you get to do a piece of art like this, with a director like this, a cast like this, a team like this. The task is to be present, to soak it all in, to commit it to memory, and to allow the magic to seep so deep into your bones so you bring it forth into every piece of art you touch after and let it inform and transform the artist you are. . As this experience shifts into a different position in my life, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I am damn grateful. A manifestation. A dream realized. . And it’s only the first... . I am a better person because of this chapter. I am better because of the people I met and the work that we did. What a joy. I will cherish it forever. I will reference and reflect on it often. It has and will continue to inform my life in ways I cant even understand now. I cant unsee what I have seen, diving headfirst into massive art, falling in love, experiencing extreme bliss. I can say, as a FACT, dreams can and do come true, it will align so deeply It will haunt you in the best way possible. And then the assignment is to take what you know, take what you have learned, and apply it. . And thats what this NEXT chapter is. & I’m ready. 🤍
