For decades, due to anti-Black racism, the climate crisis has been allowed to ravage Black communities. This vicious governmental neglect—and corporate greed and extraction—has made the crisis escalate to a level that threatens the very existence of humanity. The Black Hive @ M4BL, our climate and environmental justice initiative exists to convene Black climate and environmental justice (CEJ) leaders, so we can invest in equitable climate solutions and alternatives that center on the concerns of Black communities and that protect Black lives. If we can build climate and environmental justice and well-being for Black people across the globe, we will create a livable planet for everyone. Now, #TheBlackHive has remixed and reintroduced our Black Climate Mandate, which recommends investing in equitable climate solutions that center on Black communities' concerns.
