The benefits coming with age 🤍 They are countless, and I enjoy them to their fullest. I do the opposite of hiding the sign of age, but I still invest quite some time and effort in keeping fit. Not fit in the Nicole Kidman way as seen next month’s cover of The Perfect Magazine. But still. So I disagree with Yvonne Roberts, when she equals a fit look and a focus on health as being another trap of femininity and a sign of not being free. I do not keep fit to combat signs of age, as her article states, I do it because it’s part of the lifestyle I always had and still enjoy. And most of all, I do it for myself. I do not feel obliged to fit into what I regard as old-fashioned standards saying that pursuing fashionable aesthetics is a mark of unsolidarity and of entrapment in commercial and demeaning restrictions. I do not choose to alter my face as Kidman and Madonna, and I wonder why they do it. But it is not my place to condemn their choices. I do things in a different way because I feel that’s right for me. But fitshaming and age shaming are not the way forward in my book.
