🎉 Artist, poet and artist’s model Elizabeth Siddal was born on this day in 1829... 🍽️ She’s one of 50 remarkable women celebrated in Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant’s Famous Women Dinner Service. Though you may not recognise her name, you’ll certainly know her face! Elizabeth, or ‘Lizzie’ as she liked to be known, was one of the most famous faces of her generation, immortalised in hundreds of paintings during an artistic period known as the pre-Raphaelites. 🎨 An influential poet and artist in her own right, at the time, she was one of the fortunate few women who could pursue a creative outlet.
