What’s funny and interesting about this truly sacred spot on the planet is how mundane it is. Abbey Road is still an active studio and it’s a fairly busy road with cars coming and going often. As our tour manager was in the street getting ready for us to walk I looked at the car we were about to hold up and I just said, “we’re doing it, dude...we’re doing it.” He smiled and nodded. Because it’s the fucking Beatles and he gets it. I first came here ten years ago and I’ll never forget meeting a man in his 50’s with tears in his eyes as he said to me, “it’s magic, isn’t it?” I didn’t know him at all and yet he immediately felt like an old friend from another life. But it was special today to share this moment with my band of brothers after two incredible sold out shows in London. To think of those four dudes in that building on this road writing and recording THOSE songs. To think that because of those songs I was and am inspired to make music.
