I am a museum." —Peggy Guggenheim Happy birthday to fabulous art connoisseur Peggy Guggenheim! 🎉 Born in New York in 1898, Guggenheim dedicated herself to supporting artists, collecting works by Salvador Dalí, Robert Delaunay, and Piet Mondrian. She also elevated the careers of many unknown young American artists at the time, such as Robert Motherwell, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, and Clyfford Still. In 1970s, she donated her home and collection to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation before her death in 1979.
