I’m really delighted to share the cover for Klancy Miller’s upcoming book FOR THE CULTURE: PHENOMENAL BLACK WOMEN AND FEMMES IN FOOD. I’ve been working with @KlancyCooks for the last year and a half on her trailblazing book and am the book’s art director and designer. The book is a compendium of 66 pioneers in the food, beverage and hospitality world. The interior pages are a fantastic collection of portraits by the brilliant illustrator Sarah Madden (who I designed the cover with) and food recipes by photographer Kelly Marshall. I’m biased, but this book is fucking beautiful. There are many more things to share about the process on the making this special project, but in the meantime, it’s been a pleasure to collaborate with Klancy on her dream of this subject matter being born into the world.
