“I always have that feeling that the place is perceiving me as well, and so I want it to know, this is what I’m here for... for all my relations” One of the first tours out in my new goggle with @smithoptics I wonder what the mountains think when they see these goggles on my head? These peaks called me to be where I’m at, to be who I am, and to have the opportunity to share with the world. I couldn’t do it without the snowy mountains that make life possible and I’m grateful to them. The beadwork on the strap of the goggle is by Robert “Little Bob” Iron Shield (Hunkpapa Lakota), and it represents the Four Directions and the water that gives us life. I hope all of us who wear this goggle can be reminded to honor those things and be humbled by the power of the landscapes that give us life.
