A LIFE UPDATE FROM ME: I started a new project!❤️ I came up with an idea earlier this year to start a new digital series. One that talks to ordinary people about their extraordinary stories. I wanted to give a platform to people who could help spread messages, life lessons and inspire people that even when life leads you down a dark road, is it possible to turn pain into purpose. The reality is, you could walk past any of these brave people in the street, or pass them in the coffee shop on the way to work, and have no idea the pain they’ve suffered. This series will show how we shouldn’t ever judge anyone too quickly, and also how we can help either a family member, friend or stranger when they are in need. When I was thinking about what inspired me as a teenager and I was fortunate enough to live near London, which (in my opinion) means we were likely fortunate enough to have more access to speakers and other external voices who came into our schools to talk in assembly. I remember one man in particular came in to speak about his experience with substance abuse, and I remember being impacted so greatly by his story that I still remember it to this day (and think about it often). I wondered whether other schools, not just across the UK but across the world, have access to these kinds of speakers. The reality is, every child deserves to have access to something that could change their life in a positive way. So, I felt that creating something like this could maybe help in the education system in some way too. ❤️ I am fortunate that my documentaries get shown in schools as part of PSHE lessons (which is a complete honour to be able to help in any way I can. Anyone who knows me knows how much I wanted to be a teacher my whole life, so being able to have a voice in schools means everything to me). However I am aware my programmes talk a lot about violence against women and girls, and even though this is a HUGE issue, it does not paint the full picture of what our young people are going through today.
