Today, on my friend @leonardodicaprio's Instagram page, I will be bringing you on a journey into my home, Waorani territory, in the Amazon rainforest. We will go on a walk with my family and show you a day in the life of the Waorani - the rivers that we drink from and bathe in, the songs that we sing, the fruits that we harvest, the medicine that we use to heal ourselves - what we love and fight to protect each and every day. I want to show you my home so that you can help us protect it. We are under threat from the Ecuadorian government that wants to invade our territories to extract oil and mine for gold. We cannot let them pollute our rivers and destroy our territory and culture. We must continue to fight and defend what we love and today, I am asking you to join me. . . .
