Heartbreaking to hear the news of losing a great role model and friend for so many. Russell moved to St. Augustine for college and instantly made an impression on everyone with his endless positivity, creative talent for filmmaking, and absolutely ripping as the tallest surfer in the lineup. Russell was always there to listen to people’s problems and help them in any way possible. Though all the crazy things I did growing up, he never once judged me for it. Russell was constantly boosting people up. He was a great dad to two wonderful children, which hurts the most of all. I am thankful for all the times we shared and the impact Russell had on everyone he came across. Sending love to his family and the hundreds of friends who are feeling the pain from this loss.
