Well into the third year of the pandemic, Americans are still fantasizing about moving. The reasons for the uptick, Redfin added, vary between embracing the flexibility of remote work and fleeing record-high home prices in many places. Mortgage rates are relatively higher than they were earlier this year, too, making the monthly costs of owning a property even harder to stomach.
