brb in my señora era. 🌞 i produced this concept haircare reel as a result of answering the question of what it means to be rooted in latinx heritage and couldn’t find anything more inspiring than my abuelita in her señora era. she’s taught me the value of keeping beauty, pride, and tradition at the forefront of my identity the same way that our ancestors have. meaning + connection are the most important factors to me when producing any project so I made sure it was at the heart of this one. visually i wanted to emulate the sunny days where my abuelita does laundry in her garden, the ancestral gold jewelry that never leaves her skin, and the homemade beauty treatments that remind her of home. the beautiful thing is that storytelling can elevate any project by giving it real depth, if you allow yourself to be vulnerable + open.
