As we age, our lips lose volume and thin gradually over time. The philtrum (grove in the center between the top of the lip and the septum) beings to flatten and the distance between the corners of the mouth increases— all part of the normal aging process. Lips can also be naturally asymmetrical, which injectors can work to correct! When we correct lips, we like to use hyaluronic acid (HA) based-fillers, as HA is naturally found within the body, and it replaces hydration and volume to the lips, smoothing out fine lines and plumping.
