The intricacy of the design symbolizes relentless determination of the Ukranian people’s hearts, desire and inexhaustible will to fight! Motanka (Ukrainian: мотанка) doll is an ancient Ukrainian household item that’s believed to protect the home and family. It was originally designed for fertility and procreation, but has become associated with healing, protection and ancestors.
