A lot of my art is influenced by my life and who I am. My family is a piece of that. There's always a nod to someone in my life in my artwork. From the gold my dad would wear, to my mom's eclectic style. 🤞🏾🌹 To celebrate the release of Descendant on @Netflix, I created this piece that’s inspired by a ‘family tree’ — which to me is rooted in quality time, learning and jokes from my elders, deep love, and something fire on the grill. 💫 The documentary follows the community of Africatown in Alabama that’s equally as inspired by their family as I am, and documents their journey to reclaim their history no matter what. #Descendant is streaming now on @Netflix! @HigherGroundMedia #NetflixPartner 💁🏾‍♀️
