Announcing Bagri Foundation support for Cotton: labour, land and body at @craftscouncil 🪡 We all own something made from cotton. Yet, the origins of the material, and the stories that it holds, are rarely told. Cotton: labour, land and body, opening 21 September at the Crafts Gallery in Islington, London, will take visitors on an expedition across time, geographies, cultures and traditions, uncovering how cotton has woven – and continues to weave – Britain and South Asia together. The exhibition brings together textiles, films and works on paper from four esteemed artists Raisa Kabir, Brigid McLeer, Bharti Palmar and Reetu Sattar. 🧵 Tickets are free, drop in or book today at craftscouncil.org.uk/cotton Cotton: labour, land and body is curated by Uthra Rajgopal. Supported by the Bagri Foundation. In partnership with @britishtextilebiennial and @superslowway. #CottonExhibition 📸 Raisa Kabir, Photo: Matt Savage
