I hope you’re all enjoying Shark Week & all the amazing shark stories & imagery. At the same time, I hope you realize the majority of everyday shark stories & images are way too graphic & disturbing for public consumption. Most sharks don’t live happy Shark Week style lives, they don’t live in marine protected areas, they don’t have the protection of governments or NGOs, most sharks have zero basic rights to simply exist. The true reality for sharks is a relentless struggle to survive, facing a gauntlet of capture, tortured & murder to support never-ending human greed, ego & pure evil. At this point, I think everyone realizes that humans are the most voracious & disrespectful predators on the planet & we need to F*CKING CHANGE that.
