250 push ups with a 45 lbs plate on your back. Every time you take a break you do 5 squats. Easy. Breezy. Beautiful. At 50 push ups I thought, “I’ll just do 100...this is too hard.” At 100 I started feeling warmed up and was looking into the entrance to my “pain cave.” At 101 I thought about quitting again and also was reminded about that second coffee I had in the morning. At around 150-170 I starting thinking about cartoons I loved growing up. “Rocko’s Modern Life””TMNT” Thunder Cats. At 200 I was hammering the back wall of my pain cave and thinking about butterflies and the pink zinnias my daughter grew in a styrofoam cup this summer. (The coffee knocked again) At 220 I knew I could do it and felt “warmed up.” But was making overtly masculine sounds and a guy stopped to pray for me. Thanks mate. At 245 I knew I was rounding 3rd and enjoyed the ride till I hung a “start here” poster on the back wall of my pain cave. Our mind will do whatever it can to distract you from pain. Embrace it and let it make you stronger! Thanks to @srnatehill for showing me this beast. Get after it! 👊🏻
