“I knew I wanted to create something very poetic and soothing while also telling a powerful story within a poem. I wanted to give a viewer who isn’t a person of color a ‘different perception’ on how we love & communicate with each other. Things can be misconstrued about the black community as to why we do the things we do but truthfully this film shows/tells the natural feelings we have around each other in the moment. We glamorized the true way of living from our CULTURE by using all 16mm footage of images in the black community from everyday life.” Director @famousjoshhh “I’m grateful to be able to use this medium to tell stories in a unique and abstract way. Josh and I both have solid experience with network tv and were able to develop a shorthand almost instantly. Unlike a TV set, we deliberately had no on-set monitoring to focus our eyes on the frame and the actors without a barrier in between.
