ANJREF0011D Martin Roth & Tom Ashbrook - Sine Waves Out now ------ “Sometimes collabs are quite fruitful - sometimes the timing is right and it just flows... this was the case when I sent Tom my initial ‘Sine Waves’ idea which was just a loop out of ‘Sine Waves’ (kick, tom, organ chords). He instantly played amazing lines with the piano as well as the (Roland) Juno on top of it, which was really easy to incorporate into a full song grid. Once I moved the theme into a grittier and distorted environment, Tom added some further improvisations and the song was done. Curious to see what will come out of it next time when we actually meet!” - Martin Roth “I came across Martin’s work whilst listening to some ambient / electronic beat productions during a session in the studio and was instantly drawn to the organic nature and movement across the pieces. I decided to get in touch and see if it was possible to collaborate! It’s an interesting process being in different countries and creating but Martin decided to send a rough beat loop idea, that allowed me to improvise with the piano and synths keeping things natural and open and in our own worlds. We’re super happy with what came out of it even if we hadn’t met in person!
