So you want to become an expert at Ableton Live? ⬇️ I’m Celeste, the Product Owner for Ableton Cloud. Here are my tips 🎼 💿 💿 Before we start please remember that “how do I become an expert Live user?” Is a different question from how to become an expert artist, or even music producer! The answers to these questions will be different. I wish I understood this much earlier in my journey. 🎼 💿 How to Become An Expert Live User: -Expert Live users have discovered and tested all the main mental models and features of Live. They have probably read the manual, the Knowledge Base articles and/or spent the time needed to explore and work with Live holistically. -Expert Live users are interested in the features in Live- they pay attention to new features as they’re added-by watching Live’s release notes on Ableton.com and watching overview videos for big feature releases -Expert Live users are interested in techniques and process of other Live users, to be sure they’re not missing anything 💿 Now you can probably see, by this definition- even most Ableton employees and artists would barely qualify as expert Live users. I make this point deliberately! Live is a tool for you- to make your work- and you should be careful to not correlate your learning about the tools with your art-making or practices. Learning to be an expert with a tool is incredibly satisfying as a goal in itself, so I of course highly recommend it :) as long as you’re aligned with your goals you’ll have a great time!
